Jon has over 30 years’ experience supporting local authorities to develop year-round Tourism, Arts, and Culture strategies that deliver lasting social and economic benefits. He works collaboratively across public, private, and third sectors to shape inclusive, community-focused services.
At Bournemouth Borough Council, Jon led the creation of the town’s first integrated Leisure & Culture Strategy—an innovative framework aligning planning, conservation, sport, and health initiatives with asset improvement across parks, museums, and arts venues, while strengthening links to tourism development and destination marketing.
Jon has played a key role in shaping strategic priorities and stakeholder engagement across hospitality, arts, international education, and leisure contributing to the development of a ‘whole place’ Tourism Strategy.
Jon also has extensive experience in delivering major public events through close collaboration with businesses, organisations, and local communities, including the internationally acclaimed Bournemouth Air Festival.
